Aurora B, a serine/threonine protein kinase, is a key regulator of the onset of cytokinesis and chromosome segregation. Phosphorylation of Histone H3 at Ser 10 and Ser 28 by Aurora B contributes to chromosome number instability and mitotic chromosome condensation. In addition, Aurora B phosphorylates MCAK (mitotic centromere-associated kinesin) on Ser 92 and this inhibits MCAK’s microtubule depolymerizing activity. Aurora B localizes to kinetochore fibers during chromosome movement and segregation.

Applications
Suitable for use in Western Blot. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution
Western Blot: An antibody concentration of 1.0ug/ml is recommended. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability
Lyophilized powder may be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Reconstitute to nominal volume by adding sterile PBS with 40-50% glycerol and store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
Immunogen
E. coli-derived recombinant human Aurora B (rhAurora B, aa1-150)
Form
Supplied as a lyophilized powder from a 0.2um filtered solution in PBS with 0.02% sodium azide. Reconstitute with sterile PBS.
Purity
