Bone morphogenetic protein-7 (BMP-7), also known as osteogenic protein-1, is a member of the TGF- superfamily, and is widely expressed during embryonic development. Like other members of the bone morphogenetic protein family, BMP-7 works synergistically with BMP-2 to play a key role in the differentiation of mesenchymal cells into bone and cartilage tissues by actively recruiting stem cells from the surrounding tissue, thereby initiating the bone formation cascade. In adult cells, BMP-7 is predominately expressed in the brain, kidneys, and bladder.

Applications
Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution
Western Blot: 1-2ug/ml Immunohistochemistry: 1:50 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability
Store product at 4°C if to be used immediately within two weeks. For long-term storage, aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable at -20°C for 12 months after receipt. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Caution: FITC conjugates are sensitive to light. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
Note: Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
Immunogen
Recombinant protein corresponding to full-length human BMP-7.
Form
Supplied as a liquid in PBS, pH 7.2. No preservative added. Labeled with Fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC).
Purity
Purified by Protein G affinity chromatography.
Specificity
Recognizes human BMP-7 at ~46kD. Species Crossreactivity: mouse.
