MaxLight™550 is a new Yellow-Green photostable dye conjugate comparable to Alexa Fluor™546, 555, DyLight™549 , Cy3™, TRITC and offers better labeling efficiency, brighter imaging and increased immunodetection. Absorbance (550nm); Emission (575nm); Extinction Coefficient 150,000.

Glucose 5 transporter catalyses the uptake of D-fructose into cells. This 55kD protein is expressed in the plasma membrane and is found mainly in intestinal tissue, kidney, and spermatozoa. Increased intestinal levels of GLUT5 are seen in type 2 diabetes
Applications
Suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry and Western Blot. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution
Immunohistochemistry (paraffin): 1:50-1:200 Western Blot: 1:150-1:500 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability
Store product at 4°C in the dark. DO NOT FREEZE! Stable at 4°C for 12 months after receipt as an undiluted liquid. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Caution: MaxLight™550 conjugates are sensitive to light. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial prior to removing the cap.
Note: Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
Immunogen
A synthetic peptide (ELKELPPVTSEQ) corresponding to the carboxy terminus of the Human GLUT 5. To accomodate KLH conjugation a cysteine was added to the N-terminal.
Form
Supplied as a liquid in PBS, pH 7.2. Labeled with MaxLight™550.
Purity
Purified by Protein G affinity chromatography.
Specificity
Recognizes human Glucose Transporter 5. Does not crossreact with mouse or rat.
