Influenza virus is a single-stranded RNA virus, segmented, 70nm diameter and enveloped. Strains are described by geographic origin, strain number, year of isolation and hemagglutination (H) and neuraminidase (N) antigens.
Applications
Suitable for use in ELISA, Immunohistochemistry, Immunofluorescence, and Western Blot. Other applications have not been tested.
Recommended Dilutions
Immunofluorescence: 1:500 Immunofluorescence (Indirect): 1:1000 Hemagglutination Inhibition: 1:2500 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability
May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
Immunogen
Influenza A, strain Texas 1/77 (H3N2).
Form
Supplied as a liquid in PBS, pH 7.5, 0.09% sodium azide.
Specificity
Recognizes the Influenza A H3N2 strain. Does not react with HEp-2 cells.
