Insulin-like Growth Factor 2

Insulinlike Growth Factor II, a 67aa mitogenic polypeptide and member of the Insulin gene family, synthesized by various foetal tissues during prenatal development, under the influence of placental lactogen. IGFII is a growth factor which exhibits both paracrine and autocrine properties and signals by binding to the type 1 and type 2 insulinlike growth factor receptors (type 1 IGFR and type 2 IGFR), and also to the insulin receptor (IR). The availability of IGFII is dependent upon its attachment to, and release from, various IGF binding proteins (IGFBPs), a relationship which has been investigated in breast cancer research (2).

Applications
Suitable for use in ELISA, Functional Assays, and Western Blot. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution
ELISA: 0.5ug/ml Western Blot: 0.1-0.2ug/ml Functional Assays: 3.1-4.6ug/ml Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability
Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O or PBS. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
Note: Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
