Possible applications include the purification of human gamma Interferon and in vitro neutralization. In general, monoclonal antibodies to gamma Interferon are able to inhibit Schwartzman reactions and in the murine system appear to protect NZB mice against spontaneous development of autoimmune disease.

Applications
Suitable for use in ELISA, Immunoprecipitation and Immunohistochemistry. Furthermore the antibody is useful for Neutralization of the biological activity of Interferon gamma. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution
Immunohistochemistry (Frozen): 1:10 Neutralilzation: biological activity in vitro dilutions have to be made according to the amount of IFN-gamma to be inactivated Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Unit Definition
One neutralizing unit of anti-human gamma interferon is defined as the amount of antibody sufficient for neutralizing one unit human gamma interferon
Storage and Stability
Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
Form
Supplied as a lyophilized powder in PBS. Reconstitute with 1ml sterile ddH2O. Caution: vial is under vacuum.
Purity
Purified by Protein G affinity chromatography.
Specificity
Recognizes both natural and recombinant human gamma Interferon. Crossreactivity with other cytokines has not been found. Does not react with rodent interferons.
