MaxLight™ 490 is a new Blue-Green photostable dye conjugate comparable to DyLight™488, Alexa Fluor™488 and offers better labeling efficiency, brighter imaging and increased immunodetection. Absorbance (491nm); Emission (515nm); Extinction Coefficient 73,000.

The L1 adhesion molecule is a 200-220kD membrane glycoprotein of the immunoglobulin superfamily. Initially studied in the nervous system, L1 is involved in important processes such as neuron-neuron adhesion and migration, axonal outgrowth and fasciculation, myelination, and synaptic plasticity. Mutations in the L1 gene product have been shown to cause abnormal brain development. Outside the nervous system, L1 is expressed in hematopoietic and certain epithelial cells in humans. L1 is also active in the mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) signaling cascade.
Applications
Suitable for use in FLISA, Immunopreciptitation, Immunofluorescence and Immunocytochemistry. Other applications have not been tested.
Recommended Dilution
FLISA: 0.1-1ug/ml Immunoprecipitation: 5-10ug/test Immunofluorescence: 5-10ug/test Immunocytochemistry: 0.5-5ug/ml Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Positive Control
Human L1-transfected rat B28 cells
Storage and Stability
Store product at 4°C in the dark. DO NOT FREEZE! Stable at 4°C for 12 months after receipt as an undiluted liquid. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Caution: MaxLight™490 conjugates are sensitive to light. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial prior to removing the cap.
Note: Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
Immunogen
3T3 fibroblasts transfected with the human L1 protein
Form
Supplied as a liquid in PBS, pH 7.2. No preservatives added. Labeled with MaxLight™490.
Purity
Purified by Protein A affinity chromatography.
Specificity
Recognizes human L1 protein. Species Sequence Homology: 88% homology with mouse and rat L1.
