Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunocytochemistry. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution
Western Blot: 0.5-2ug/ml detected a Myc epitope tagged protein in a transfected Cos-1 cell lysate. 1ug/ml of a previous lot detected endogenous Myc in HeLa nuclear extract. A lysate of transfected Cos-1 cells was resolved by electrophoresis, transferred to nitrocellulose and probed with anti-Myc Tag (0.5ug/ml). Proteins were visualized using a goat anti-rabbit secondary antibody conjugated to HRP and a chemiluminescence detection system. Arrow indicates Myc epitope tagged protein (~66kD) Immunocytochemistry: Reported to detect Myc-tagged proteins in transfected cells Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability
May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide corresponding to residues 409-420 of human Myc (MEQKLISEEDLN)
Form
Supplied as a liquid in 0.1M Tris-glycine, pH 7.4, 0.15M sodium chloride, 0.05% sodium azide.
Purity
Purified by Protein A affinity chromatography.
Specificity
Recognizes and is specific for human Myc and recombinant proteins containing the Myc epitope tag.
