SLIT and NTRK-like family 4 (Slitrk4) is a member a protein family consisting of six homologous transmembrane proteins (Slitrk1-6) that share two conserved leucine-rich repeat domains in the extracellular domain and have significant homology to Slit, a secreted axonal growth-controlling protein. These proteins are also homologous to trk neurotrophin receptors in their intracellular domains (1). Expression of Slitrk proteins is highly restricted to neural and brain tumor tissues, but varies within the protein family (1,2). Like every other Slitrk protein except Slitrk1, overexpression of Slitrk4 inhibited neurite outgrowth in cultured neurons, suggesting that these proteins are involved in the control of neurite outgrowth. This antibody is predicted to have no cross-reactivity to other Slitrk proteins.

Applications
Suitable for use in Western Blot. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution
Western Blot: 0.5–1 ug/ml Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability
May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide corresponding to 13aa from near the carboxy terminus of human Slitrk4 (GenBank accession no. Q8IW52).
Form
Supplied as a liquid in PBS, 0.02% sodium azide.
Purity
Purified by immunoaffinity chromatography.
Specificity
Recognizes human Slitrk4. Species crossreactivity: Mouse and rat.
