Signal transducer and transcription activator that mediates cellular responses to interleukins, KITLG/SCF and other growth factors. May mediate cellular responses to activated FGFR1, FGFR2, FGFR3 and FGFR4. Binds to the interleukin-6 (IL-6)-responsive elements identified in the promoters of various acute-phase protein genes. Activated by IL31 through IL31RA.

Applications
Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry, Immunohistochemistry, ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilutions
ELISA: 1:16,000 Flow Cytometry: 10ug/ml Western Blot: 1-3ug/ml, observed in human heart and liver lysates, on ~75kD bands Immunohistochemistry (paraffin): 5ug/ml Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability
May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide corresponding to CRPESQEHPEADP, from human STAT3, at the internal region. Species sequence homology: mouse, rat and canine

Supplied as a liquid in Tris saline, pH 7.3, 0.5% BSA, 0.02% sodium azide.
Purity
Purified by immunoaffinity chromatography.
Specificity
Recognizes human STAT3.
