CD25, otherwise known as the Tac antigen or p55, is the alpha chain of the Interleukin-2 (IL-2) receptor. The IL-2 receptor is expressed on activated cells including T cells, B cells and monocytes. It is also present on a subset of thymocytes, HTLV-1 transformed T and B cells, EBV transformed B cells, myeloid precursors and oligodendrocytes. IL-2 induces the expression of the CD25 subunit on NK cells.

The IL-2 receptor consists of at least three distinct membrane components: the alpha chain (IL-2R-alpa, Tac, CD25), the beta chain (IL-2R-beta, p75, CD122), and the gamma chain (IL-2R-gamma). CD25 is undetectable on resting T cells but is induced upon T-cell activation.
Applications
Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry and Immunofluorescence. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilutions
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Positive Control
Tonsil or lymph node
Storage and Stability
Store product at 4°C in the dark. DO NOT FREEZE! Stable at 4°C for 12 months after receipt as an undiluted liquid. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Caution: APC conjugates are sensitive to light. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial prior to removing the cap.
Note: Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
