BCL2-associated athanogene 2, also known as BAG2, is a member of the Bag family of proteins. BAG proteins compete with Hip for binding to the Hsc70/Hsp70 ATPase domain. BAG2 is a major component of the HSC 70/CHIP chaperone-dependent ubiquitin ligase complex and acts to disrupt CHIP-mediated ubiquitylation.

Storage and Stability

May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 6 months after receipt at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
