RANTES is a protein which has been shown to be a chemo-attractant for peripheral blood monocytes. It appears to selectively attract T cells of the CD4+/CD45RO+ phenotype in vitro. Rat RANTES is a 7.9kD protein containing 68 amino acid residues.
Biological Activity
Rat Rantes produces chemotaxis over a wide concentration range in assay using rat peritoneal macrophages. Significant chemotaxis was achieved using a concentration of 50-100ng/ml.
