CD79 is a 23/21 disulfide-linked heterodimer composed of an alpha chain (CD79a/mb-1) and a beta chain (CD79b/B29) that associates non-covalently with membrane immunoglobulin to form the B cell receptor (BCR) complex. Its expression is restricted to B lymphocytes, first appearing on the surface at the pro-B cell stage and remaining through all stages of B cell differentiation prior to plasma cells. Crosslinking of the BCR leads to B cell activation.

Applications
• Flow cytometry • Immunohistochemistry (frozen sections) • Immunoprecipitation
Recommended Dilution
Flow Cytometry: 10ul/10e6 cells Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability
May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and add glycerol (40-50%). Store at -20°C or colder. Aliquots are stable for at least 6 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
Form
Supplied as a liquid in PBS, 0.09% sodium azide and a stabilizing agent. Labeled with PE.
Purity
Purified
Specificity
Recognizes human CD79beta.
